National Nutrition Month®

March is National Nutrition Month®  and the start of spring!

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics theme for 2022 is Celebrate a World of Flavors , with a focus on global cuisines and cultures.

It’s a great time to “spring clean” your nutrition by eating a variety of flavors! This is also a great month to review your nutrition plan and goals. Reviewing your nutrition plan with each season of the year is a great idea to be sure you are staying on track and eating fruits and vegetables that are in season.

With the arrival of spring, many people are starting to take their workouts outdoors such as bicycling, hiking, and running. Changing up your nutrition to fuel your workouts can be very beneficial. Here some helpful resources:

During this month I am focusing on being grateful for everything I eat and the access that I have to food and water. Many people in this world right now are facing daily challenges getting food to eat and water to drink. Keeping this in mind, consdider making a donation to your local food pantries, or your local food bank.

Another way to help people around the world in need of food, especially everyone in Ukraine right now, is to donate to a global food organization such as the following:

World Central Kitchen

The Global FoodBanking Network

Action Against Hunger
